What is Obstructive Sleep Apnea (OSA)?

Sleep Apnea covers a large range of sleep disorders. To date, there are over 100 types and counting. By far, the most common sleep disorder is obstructive sleep apnea. This is a condition where the tongue, soft palate, or obstructions in the nose or throat close off or partially close while sleeping, preventing a person from getting enough oxygen to their brain and other body tissue. This can lead to the inability to get into the deeper restorative stages of sleep and creates a release of stress hormones that spike blood pressure, can cause excessive daytime sleepiness, and lead to multiple pathological medical conditions.

This is most commonly treated with a forced air pressure device to push open the airways, such as a CPAP or a dental device, bringing the jaw and tongue forward to open the airway. Both of these therapies should not be used until a proper diagnosis is made, which is the purpose of this website. We are here to allow you to be tested in the convenience and comfort of your own bed.

We are committed to helping you and your loved ones find the cause of your medical concerns around poor sleep quality.
