IF YOU ORDER A HOME SLEEP TEST, WHY SHOULD I ORDER A HOME SLEEP TEST ONLINE?
1, Great benefit: Testing in the comfort of your own home, bed, or even while traveling eliminates the unfamiliar environment of a sleep laboratory. For patients at risk for obstructive sleep apnea (OSA), home sleep testing (HST) has been shown to provide diagnostic accuracy comparable to an in-lab polysomnogram (PSG).2. Snoring and women’s health: Snoring is not just a noise. It is also important to test snoring sleep partners. Our test can show you why snoring is not just an annoyance. It often has health consequences not just for men but also for women.
3. Sleep solutions are available: We first have you fill out a screening form to determine whether you may need a sleep study. After we evaluate this screening form, many do not need a sleep test. If you do have the test done, you may request a list of medical and dental professionals who can help with your situation. Or, if you are not a DOT driver, pilot, or ship captain, you may elect to keep your results private.
4. If you are a DOT driver, we will work with you to find a solution for any issue you have with the time constraints that now exist if we discover that you do have a sleep disturbance that could impair your safety in driving. You will strive to get ample time for a diagnosis in confidence and then find a solution before any information is shared with your DOT medical examiner. This way, you may not have a short 9-day window to become compliant. When we share your information with your DOT medical examiner, we strive to have a solution and to be in compliance with limited loss in your work schedule. We will work hard to provide a reasonable timeframe for you to solve your compliance issues.
5. Professional Diagnosis: Your home sleep apnea study will be read by a board-certified sleep specialist, unlike many online sleep tests. This will be done in confidence.
6. Quick mail-order shipping: Complete the online test order form. Results are typically available within 5–7 business days after we receive your completed study.
7. You control your expenses and privacy: You do not need a prescription or referral to take this test and can avoid the cost of a medical office visit to order this test. If you are not a DOT driver, pilot, or ship captain, you do not have to share it with anyone unless you want to, including your family physician, nurse practitioner, sleep doctor, chiropractor, dentist, or other healthcare provider. We also will not send results to your insurance company.
8. You can keep working: Our testing options are designed to assist many individuals working in safety-sensitive occupations, including commercial drivers and pilots, when appropriate.
9. Doctor Consultation: After completing your health questionnaire and home sleep study, you may schedule a complimentary consultation with Dr. Richard Downs or another qualified member of our staff.
“We are committed to helping you and your loved ones find the cause of your medical concerns around poor sleep quality.”
